Cochrans Hill Climb

 

LOCATION: Cochran’s Ski Area. 910 Cochran Rd, Richmond, VT 05477.

TEAMS: SBHS, BHS, CVU, Essex, MMU, BFA St Albans, Woodstock, Harwood, Montpelier

2:15-2:45	Bib pick-up in the main building		FORMAT: Freestyle. Classic is allowed for those brave enough to try, though there will be no tracks. Racers will start one at a time every 10 seconds.
3:00	JV Girls
3:15	JV Boys
3:45	Varsity Girls
4:00	Varsity Boys

COURSE: The distance is similar to previous years. JV will go about halfway up the hill, varsity will go all the way to the top! Race volunteers will be collecting bibs at the bottom of the hill rather than the finish line, so please remind your athletes not to walk away with them.

SPACE: To ensure we have that space for everyone, athletes should arrive in buses or a carpool. Spectators should plan to come in one car per family. The main building will be open for athletes to use the bathroom and warm up. There isn’t much flat terrain for tents or waxing tables at Cochran’s, so prepare accordingly.

SAFETY: We would like to reiterate that this is a hill climb and not a downhill race. To ensure the safety of all spectators, athletes are not allowed to ski down after their race. Those who fail to follow this rule will be disqualified.
